Girl's Spring Registration

Welcome to the Spring 2025 Girls Bees Youth Lacrosse season! Registration is open for our three age groups:

Bantam (grades 3 & 4)

Youth (grades 5 & 6)

Middle School (grades 7 & 8)

A spring Parents Meeting will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 7:00 - 8:30 pm at the Brecksville Recreation Center Community Room. This meeting is mandatory for new player parents and highly encouraged for returning player parents. If you need to size up or order a uniform, you must attend this meeting.

Registration Information

Spring registration fees are $400 for returning players and $560 for new players. New member fees include a pinnie, skirt and helmet.

All fees cover indoor practices, field times in March through May, referee fees, league fees, tournament registrations, insurance*, equipment and operating costs.

  • Returning players should use the code "RETURN" to receive the $160 helmet credit.

*We have changed our insurance carrier this year. Previously we procured our player insurance through US Lacrosse. Using them required us to have each player register under US Lacrosse which was a fee of $35/player. Our new insurance carrier gives us a better rate with the same coverage and that fee is absorbed into your 2025 Bees Lax fees.

Practices

INDOOR PRACTICES

We practice indoors in January and February at Pinnacle in Medina and at TBD dates the Field House in Brecksville. These practices are included in your fees and are required to attend unless you have a direct conflict playing another sport.

Practices will be held:

  • Fridays starting January 10 - February 28 at Pinnacle Sports Complex, 313 Medina Road, Medina. (No practice January 17)
  • Dates TBD at The Field House, 4400 Oakes Road, Brecksville.

All practices will be added to Game Changer once registration is underway.

OUTDOOR PRACTICES

Outdoor practices will begin once the weather breaks which is typically late February/early March and will continue until the end of the season. These will take place at multiple locations in Brecksville including:

  • Blossom Turf Field - 4400 Oaks Road
  • Julie Billiart School (old Chippewa Elementary) - 8611 Wiese Road
  • Old Stadium Fields - 6919 Stadium Drive

Once we get outside, each age group will practice multiple times per week (Bantam 1 - 2 times a week; Youth 3 - 4 times a week and Middle School 4 - 5 times a week). Practices will be more frequent prior to when games start and will lessen as games take up some of those days. All practice will be scheduled in Game Changer.

Games & Tournaments

GAMES

Games typically start the beginning of April and continue through the end of May. The goal is to get one game in per week throughout the season but there may be weeks where two are scheduled due to rescheduled games for weather and other scheduling issues. Home games will likely be at one of the practice locations. Away games will be at various schools in Northeast Ohio.

All game times and locations will be scheduled in Game Changer.

TOURNAMENTS

We typically play three tournaments each season including:

  • Hudson Lax Fest
  • Big Dog (TBD)
  • NOLL Conference Tournament

  • Bees pinnie/jersey

During cold months, you will want to purchase black heat gear for your player to wear under her jersey and skirt. Gloves (preferably athletic gloves) are also strongly recommended. For warmer months, players are welcome to wear black bike shorts under their kilt/skirt and a black sports bra/tank under the jersey.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we have to be at every practice?

Lacrosse is a spring sport and therefore we expect a priority to be placed on attending practices. Practice helps your player become confident in her skills and allows the coach to work with your player to help them grasp concepts and plays.

Do I have to buy a helmet?

Yes. Brecksville-Broadview Heights Girls Youth Lacrosse mandates a helmet be worn as part of the uniform. We have negotiated competitive pricing and pass that savings directly to you. The helmet is adjustable and will last your player her entire lacrosse experience.

Is there a difference between a girls and boys lacrosse stick?

Yes. There is a huge difference between boys and girls sticks. Only girls sticks are legal for girls games. Therefore, all girls must practice with a girls stick. You can learn more about equipment here. Feel free to reach out to us with specific equipment questions.

What happens if I have to miss a game or tournament?

It is important to communicate your attendance to all practices, games and tournaments so coaches can create game lineups. If missing a game, please let coaches know 48 hours before. If missing a tournament, please give coaches a 1 week notice.

Who are the coaches?

The Girls program is fortunate to have coaches that have played lacrosse in high school and college. The Girls program is also supported by coaches that have coached at the high school level as well as parent coaches that have trained with our more experienced coaches.
